The Surf Thru Express Story
Surf Thru Express was founded in 2015 by co-owners Scott and Todd Van Bakerstone, California natives who spent more than 20 years working in law before pursuing their vision of creating a modern, customer-focused car wash company built on excellence, innovation, and industry leadership.
The name “Surf Thru” was inspired by Todd’s love of surfing in Pacific Coast beaches which reflects the company’s commitment to delivering a fast, smooth, and enjoyable customer experience.
Surf Thru Express began in California’s Central Valley, opening its first locations in Fresno. Since then, the company has expanded to more than 45 locations across the West with continued growth on the horizon.
